In order for your son to play sports at Bellarmine, he MUST be eligible and medically cleared (by a physician) to participate.
The requirements* include the following:
- A Pre-Participation Examination (PPE)
- The purpose of the pre-participation examination (aka physical) helps to ensure the student is physically able to participate in sports safely.
- NO student-athlete will be allowed to participate in any organized and/or scheduled practice without having a pre-participation examination on file with the sports medicine department.
- The PPE must be cleared by a health care provider. (e.g. MD, DO, NP, PA)
- A PPE is an ANNUAL requirement that is valid for one year from the date of evaluation.
