Michael has been an essential part of the Bellarmine community since 2014, bringing a wealth of experience in athletic training and sports medicine to the school. Prior to joining Bellarmine, Michael served as the Clinical Director and Athletic Trainer at South Bay Sports and Preventative Medicine for seven years. In addition to his daily responsibilities with Bellarmine athletes, he is passionate about teaching the Sports Medicine class on campus, sharing his expertise with the next generation of sports health professionals.
With a career spanning over two decades, Michael has worked at all levels of sports, including high school, junior college, four-year universities, and professional teams. He began his career in 1999 while living in Sacramento, where he served as both a Head Athletic Trainer at a local high school and as an athletic trainer for a professional sports team.
Michael holds both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training, and a Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Performance, both from California State University, Sacramento. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers' Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
